Default Saying goodbye

As long as you don't walk out the door in the middle of a trip, waving your middle finger at the chief pilot, I don't think it will come back to haunt you.

gonna be interesting giving my two weeks notice, considering ive never even met my chief pilot and i have no idea what he looks like. kalitta did hire me for an FO position, i think if it was SO the decision would have been easier. Thanks again everyone i appreciate the advice... im off to be a freight dawg...

Ghilis, Good decision and good luck......you will never have more fun in aviation than at a widebody ACMI carrier. You will work hard, but if you fancy playing hard also, you are now in the right place. Congrats! Oh and on your resignation letter, just make it a genieric, "I will be leaving in to weeks." You don't need to offer any explanations. You could do that verbally if you want, but the bare minimum in writing would be the wiser.

I had a friend tell me that kalitta wants 5,000 hrs TT before you can upgrade..... Does anyone know if that's still true?

Yes, or 24 months in company aircraft or 500 hours on type with the company and not less than 2500 tt.

AE called me with a class date about 2 months after I started with Express One, and couldn't understand why I would turn them down. I was only making 2 1/2 times AE's starting salary.

Anyone know if you have to reside in Ypsilanti to work there?

You can live where ever you want. Home based. They purchase a ticket for you where ever they need you. And maybe if they need you bad enough, they will send the Lear jet.

It's actually called the CCS. The first C is for Connie and the S is for sucker. You can figure out the other C! I never got one of those briefings, but I got to hear one. Funniest thing I ever heard.
