Thanks! So I see the company match is capped at $10,000 annually and they match 100% for the first 5%, so you basically have to make at least $200,000/year in order to earn their $10,000 cap. Am I understanding that correctly?

You are correct

I flew for a regional for what felt like 10,000 years. I left a few years ago to start a business with a friend. We sold the business for a nice profit and now I've got the flying bug again. ACMI seems like a nice fit for me but there's a few things I'm confused about.

How does scheduling work? It sounds like they buy you an airline ticket and you live on the road for several weeks and then they buy you a ticket back home. Anyone care to share what a typical schedule looks like?

It sounds like everyone ends up in coach on their deadheads. Do you get miles and status for all of your deadheading? Do you get business class for 16 hour international flights?

All of your questions are answered in the various Kalitta Air threads here on APC. It is a long read but you can skip anything prior to 12/01/16 as it has been mostly superseded by the new contract. If you choose to read it all it serves as a good history for anyone that does eventually get hired here and explains why some of our quirks are the way they are.

The short answer to your question is that yes, they buy you a ticket to and from your end and start point. Generally you are out 16 days straight but there are usually some split lines that may have a small block (3-6 days) and a big block or equally divided blocks. I don't like them as we travel out on our last day off so you effectively lose a day off by bidding a split line. There is no normal schedule. You could be doing literally anything. We get business class for any international flight (includes HI and AK) over three hours. If it is not available at time of booking we get a financial compensation for having to ride coach. You can also elect to ride coach and take the cash. CONUS is all coach. Normally we collect our airline miles and at some properties hotel points.

You will get 15 off in 31 day months, 14 off in 30 day months. My last rotation was 11 days and it went like this.

Delta -- Home to ATL to CVG
DH on company: CVG to BAH
Operated over next days.... BAH-HKG-DEL-LEJ-DEL-HKG

commercial to HKG to ICN
Operate ICN - HKG

Operate HKG-DEL-LEJ

Operate LEJ - CVG

Delta CVG-ATL-Home

Thank You Hercdriver

You said your last rotation was 11 days. Did you get 19 or 20 days off for the month?

He's an oddball since he does union work too. Crew dogs will be on the road the entire 16.

Looking at the new payrates on APC, I show min guarantee of 64 hours placing a first year FO at just over $80K. How is a year one FO able to credit so much more time and make $120K ?
especially considering the training pay for what I assume is about two months.

How is extra pay obtained at Kalitta ? (Flying more days? premium pay?)

Thanks for any info!

It’s possible to have a split line where you are not out for 16 straight days.
