That may be pessimistic. They have two birds in IST and one I. Saudi with a lengthy repair coming. I’ll bet we have to sub for them for a bit and before the repair is over we are back on it!

Don't be so sure. There were politics involved in our losing that contract and some very powerful people in Turkey would lose face if ACT was dumped. When you deal with nationalized companies it is never just about business. There is also the external politics of Turkey's relationship with the US that will no doubt come into play on any decisions made on extra cargo lift for Turkish. I'm guessing that with the reduced loads due to Corona virus they are probably looking to reduce frequency for the moment anyway.

theres definitely merit in that. The only way I could see it working out for them is to reduce their flight schedule - they have three carriers at Ataturk, and all are pretty busy. Losing it will be a shame, it’s been a great time in Istanbul. Maybe our next one will be great too, like hubbing out of Fiji!

We saw a downturn like this at the end of 2011. Company made a few mistakes and I would think they would not repeat those again. K4 is a good place to be during the down times. Lengthy overnights with site seeing opportunities. We will recover and get back to a pre expansion normal. Unless Atlas is broken up and split between DHL and Amazon and they drop their ACMI business. In that case you might see another expansion

Good Morning Everyone,

Is K4 actively hiring pilots right now?

The reason I am asking is because, although the APC K4 airline profile page says that you are, the Kalitta Air website careers page does NOT currently have “Pilot” or “First Officer” as a listed job opening.

Thank You in advance.

Spoke to a good friend flying there and apparently right now the window is closed, but "Right now" in this business could be that it will open up by 2pm or it could stagnate for 18 months...

It's a funny business

I agree they probably will need to sub the flying out, but who knows if they will use us. Other carriers seem to be struggling worldwide so the chances are actually pretty good from my literal Monday morning armchair.

We did call people that had their October interviews cancelled for interviews last week, but I don't think they are accepting more resumes.

If Turkish Air Flying was lost sorry to hear. I liked Istanbul and actually getting more than 1-2 landings in a month.
But that’s the ACMI business.

Wouldn't say we are over staffed. If by over staffed you mean not breaking guarantee and getting 64 hours then we are staffed correctly. Although I hear the 76 is suffering from having 20+ ripped from them for the 777.
