Pretty much what Palm said. Only thing I’d add is try and have your CBT’s finished the first week you get them. I’m not saying to just click through aimlessly, but there’s enough gouge to get you through. Form a study group of at least 4-5 and get together everyday and talk systems and work on flows. We had a full size cockpit “built” in my room out of pvc pipe and styrofoam and we sat in front of it for hours every day running flows and quizzing each other on systems. That should be your week 2.

Also, make friends with guys in the class ahead of you. They’ll pass along “important info” of how things are going and what needs to be focused on at the time (aka, “the gouge”).

Ask questions, put forth the effort, have a good attitude, and you won’t have issues. Most of the “problem” instructors in the training department have departed. It’s mostly a good group of guys. I’m definitely not saying it will be easy, but if I can get through it, any window licker can.

Well, things are about to get real interesting here at K4. Just came down from CEO and COO that all employees must take the DICtator mandated shot by December 8th or go unpaid leave, IF you get approved for religious or medical exemption. As of last count from the DO/CP office, the # of pilots with the shot was only 42% of the pilot group. Those that refuse to take the shot are adamant, at least the ones I talked to, that the risks are not worth it… including myself. Not sure how they think this place will run, even if they get half of the 58% left to take it, when we are constantly short staffed with all the hiring we been doing all year.

Guess I wont have to worry about bidding Christmas off.

Ok so taking the vaccine does not prevent you from getting COVID-19. However, considering where you may land up doing ACMI flying isn't it much riskier to be unvaccinated and to get COVID while on a two-week BFE rotation? Medical care can vary significantly at some locations as you all know. Just saying.

Search for research studies out of Israel and the UK on natural immunity vs “vaccinated” immunity. Pretty revealing and kept quietly out of the mainstream rhetoric. Had it, survived and now have immunity. Even if I had never gotten it, I’d rather take my chances with a virus that is 99.7% survivable than take any shot.
