Jumpseat courtesies into Leipzig Kalitta
Fellow pilots,
=12ptI will be jump seating to Leipzig from CVG Next month on your aircraft. I am posting here to gather any and all pertinent information. I would like to know any courtesies and favs that crew may appreciate. Also, can any one chime in that has recently flown to Leipzig post June 15th. What kind of questions and documents can I expect to be asked from German government? Also, how many bags can I bring? I’m trying to bring a stroller for my child along with my own personal bag.
thank you again for giving me a ride.

Snacks. Especially healthy snacks. I'm at Atlas, but we fly to LEJ as well. I know if you were jumpseating to Leipzig with me, I'd make sure you and your stroller make it aboard if you bring snacks. Fresh fruit plates. Those giant buckets of cut watermellon. A big sack of apples. Tubs of those grilled chicken-breast nuggets from chik-fil-a. Those plastic veggie plates. All of that stuff would get your stroller to Leipzig.
In all honesty I'd still get your stroller aboard without snacks too. Also I don't fly to Leipzig anymore now that I'm on the 767. Still, if you bring snacks any crew would probably get your stroller to Leipzig.

Howdy,I did speak to jumpseat department and they confirmed that I can jumpseat to Germany. I just won’t be able to fly back on a jumpseat to US.
[QUOTE=MoarAlpha;3080107]Stroller and a bag should be fine. Have you double checked Kalitta Air is accepting international jumpseaters? I know a few weeks ago we were not. Use the following link to get in contact with the right people.

I haven't flown into LEJ in a few months but I've never had them even glance at our bags on the way in. The Polezei check and stamp your passport and out the door you go. It might facilitate your way to wear a uniform but on that I'm not sure. When you list with Kalitta they will cater food for you. Depending on the crew configuration and time of departure you may even be offered a bunk. If not, all forms of the 747 have business class seats. If you are not familiar with freight ops, most guys will change into comfy clothes like sweats and hoodies for the cruise and change back into uniform before top of decent. I know of no one who would object if you did the same. I personally love having jumpseaters. It's a chance to pay back and talk to somebody new.

Check on things after 1 July. They may change. I really doubt the German authorities will know the difference, especially if you are added to the GenDec.
