Pelican Bags

Anyone carrying around a Pelican bag for work? Specifically one equivalent to a 25" or so rolling bag? They seem pretty indestructible. If you're carrying one, what model do you have and how do you like it? And have you figured out a way to strap a smaller bag to the front of it (similar to a J-hook kind of thing like Luggageworks)? I have seen several of the mechanics carrying them but not really any flight crews. Thanks!

I have the 1615, been carrying it for about 1.5 yrs, overall I love it. There are a few triple guys that carry them. 3 things though:

1) you’ll need flight crew stickers identifying it as a crew bag or the loaders tend to leave it on the plane thinking it’s a mx case.

2) if you get the 1615, it’s a 32” case so you’ll have to check it when you commercial.

3) the wheels tend to give out, I suspect it’s mainly bc the loaders toss it upright and repeatedly landing on the wheels will eventually break them. I’m on my 3rd set, but they’re $13 on amazon. I’m looking for a different set that holds up better.

As far as strapping the smaller bag, I use a shoulder strap to loop through the top handle of the pelican and then through the handles of the small bag. Only takes a few seconds to put together. Works good lasts a long time.
