Another international JS question

I plan on JS to Japan here shortly of it works out. The Customs compliance sup suggested on wearing uniform. I was wondering if that is necessary or recommended. Just trying not to bringing to much stuff that is not needed. Thanks in advance.

You will not be allowed through any crew line in Japan, or the rest of Asia for that matter without a uniform. Wear it.

What do you think the loadmasters and mechanics wear?

I remember then having a uniform that sort of looked like a pilot they could wear if needed.

K4 last week HKG to ANC with a jumpseater not in a uniform. No problems. They are more interested in your name on the gen dec and crew id to exit the country .

If I was getting free travel from another airline, and the folks there that coordinate all OAL jumpseat travel said that I should wear a uniform, I’d follow their recommendation.

Guess it depends on the company - for sure it's not like that at the two I've worked for going in and out of HKG.

Incorrect.

Had a JS NGO to CVG the other day, business casual (slacks and a polo). No issues with customs, nor would I expect there to be.

Your actual issue is, while Customs compliance are a great bunch, sometimes they have outdated info on where to join the crew. My advice is ask for the captains email and message them directly about where to meet.
