If you are a WWII history buff, El Alamein, a couple of hours west of Alexandria, is worth the trip. Rommel and Montgomery decisive battle ground. Planes, tanks, and an indoor museum. Lots of cemetery memorials. if time permits, go over to Jordan, and visit Petra. Think Raiders of the Lost Ark backdrop. Not a Hollywood set. Should be on everyone's bucket list. Not even talking about Israel. History. Religion. Worth a vacation by itself. Hopefully in a more peaceful time. |
Do you look like an American tourist?
Be very careful out there or postpone your trip. We’re not very popular in the region right now and Egypt has had its share of terrorist activity. |
ChatGPT is really good for stuff like this. Especially for getting 80% of the way there before doing some human fine tuning
|
This is not a particualrly good time to play tourist there.
Buy some microwave popcorn and watch mummy movies on the TV. Find a museum and visit an egypt exhibit. Cairo is neither clean, nor like Hollywood portrays. |

Good thing I'm above average.

Pyramids and the Sphinx, just on the western edge of Cairo. Cairo Museum. Also buy cheap wholesale small glass figurines to huge chandeliers (they will ship) at the Asfour Glass Works. Alexandria, drive El Cornish, on the Mediterranean. Much like Chicago Lake Shore Drive. New Library in Alexandria (the old library burned down - it was in your history books). Sharm El Sheikh resort on the south tip of the Sinai. There are riverboat cruses on the Nile, Go from the southern part all the way to Cairo. The valley of the Kings. If time pemits, some of the other pyramids, such as the stepped pyramid and the red pyramid. Inquire at your hotels about other places. Cairo Marriott Hotel and Palace. Palace build for the opening of the Suez Canel. Several other Palaces.

Wow, The Nile river cruises are definitely something I'd be interested in checking out. I think it would be really relaxing and cool to see different parts of the country from the water. about the destinations. I read from this blog all the places you mentioned https://gowithguide.com/blog/egypt-tourism-statistics-2023-all-you-need-to-know-5312 the blog did a nice job explaining what there is to see and do in each city, Thanks for sharing all the detailed recommendations .. But unfortonately, I'm planning to postponed my trips because of the trip advisory I read.. But don't worry, I will take note of this I'll be making an early itinerary and will surely go there when everything is fine, Would definitely try going over to Jordan and Visit Petra. Thank you for your help!

It’s quite simple really, don’t go where it says War.
Tacos come from Timbuktaco. In the real world, tacos come from Bell. |

Funky Falafel with extra garlic sauce.
You can get those in New Jersey also I’ve been told. Middle Eastern food is da bomb. |
