Default Top Ten Train Trips (aka TTTT)

Fully aware that it can be considered sacrilegious to post about train trips on an aviation board, but these are simply too good to miss. I have done the TER Mediterranee, the Tokaido Shinkansen, and part of the Bergen Line. Next on my list is hopefully the Blue Line Train and the Eastern and Oriental Express. I would kill to go on any one of these right now!

Glad to see the Alaska Railroad in there. I took a ride from Anchorage to Whittier and back the other day and it was amazing

Weird that they don't have the train trip from New York City to Florida. That happens to be my best train trip because I got to see so much of the Eastern side of the United States. Also, the foods were great on the train. The experience was great, and the price matches it as well.

If you get to Skagway, take the narrow-gauge White Pass train through the mountains, along the trail miners followed toward the Yukon.

Anchorage to Seward is also an amazing ride - we used to throw the Kayaks in the baggage car and head to Seward. In Seward you can hop on the ferry to Whittier, but do a whistle stop in Chenega Bay. We'd budget a couple of weeks to paddle back Whittier where we'd hop back on the train and head back to ANC. Good times!

I have ridden that train many times. I was raised in Haines!
