I Quit my Flag Carrier to be a programmer
Hello Guys,
i've been flying as a first officer in my Country's Flag Carrier Airline " Egyptair " for 8 years, 4800 flying hours on the B738, until i decided i'm fed-up , self learned mobile app development ( if anyone need information about this i will be glad to help ) and last August i quit my job and moved to Poland to be with my Polish Wife, but now, i can't get a job in the programming field, and its really difficult to get freelancing gigs ! , so now i've been thinking, shall i go back to flying in a well paying charter in egypt and be away from my family ( just for couple of years to save money ) , or shall i stay and keep trying !, i would appreciate your opinions thou ! cheers. |
What did you know about the job market in Mobile App Development before deciding to switch careers and move to Poland?
Just curious because it sounds as you leapt without looking:eek: |
That's funny. I quit programming/consulting to return to professional flying.
|
Won’t you just get fed up again if you go back?

I see that was a while ago but I want to put my 2 cents. From an Egyptian guy to another Egyptian lol, Get a FAA licenses conversion and get a working visa to work in the US and join the regional or ULCC. But tbh best bet try to go back to Egyptair or maybe it’s not I haven’t worked there before but I always wanted to
You’ve got a long way ahead of you. Poland is an EU member state which means with Polish citizenship you should be eligible for employment anywhere in Europe. |
Following. It amazes me that thousand of people immigrated as an adult, went to flight school, stayed (someway/somehow), but nobody can impart that wisdom.

Specifically what “working visa” would you recommend?
