Do Cabin safety inspectors get jumpseat privileges or is that only for ACO inspectors? Been curious about this.

Don’t call it a “privilege”, it is a work assignment. And yes, Cabin Safety Inspectors conduct primarily cabin inspections, but can do cockpit inspections from time to time.

None of us "get" jumpseat privileges. If you have a job assignment that requires you to conduct an enroute, then yes you will have to ride in the cockpit jumpseat. All inspectors with a 110A credential have the same authority to jumpseat, although cabin safety inspectors will generally conduct their enroutes from the cabin.

But to be clear it's not a "privilege" in that it can't be used for personal travel or anything outside of a specific work assignment.

Yeah, I should have clarified, but thanks for the info about it. I read on a previous post replying to my question that to be competitive they want to see LCAs or SCAs. Is that still holding true with the current hiring environment at the legacies?

Yes. Just like industry, the FAA is looking for Ops Inspectors nationwide.

Depending on your level of experience, OPS ASI's start at 9- step 5, 11-step 5, or 12 Step-5.

Typically start at GS-9/11/12.
The pay tables are public data on opm.gov
