Ok heard a rumor that by the end of the week there would be a new Inspector job posting. Anyone on here able to confirm that?

Even if the window opens most of the hiring historically has happened toward the end of summer. This is because of the fiscal year ending at the end of September. It always seems like a rush at that point in time.

It might be different now that there are ASIs leaving the agency, but I am not sure.

I left the FAA two years ago after completing almost 100% of my OJT. I think I had a few 142 items left to complete. The nice thing is you get lifetime reinstatement rights to the FAA if you've completed probation, although I hope I never have to return.

Where did you move on to?
That is a nice security blanket if true about life time reinstatement rights.
I've not heard that before and I'm pretty sure it doesn't apply to my LOB

I went to United Airlines.

The lifetime reinstatement applies to all LOBs I believe. I actually got it in writing from the director of HR from the region I was working at. The reinstatement is not a guarantee of reemployment though. If you want the actual letter I received send me a pm and I will forward it to you.

What is the HR definition between the reinstatement and reemployment?
We just had a guy come back after 10+ years, but he was well thought of when he left and he basically was right next door with Kellogg out of Battle Creek so he was still *around*.

I had never heard of that policy either until FAAFlyer told me. He was nice enough to send me the HR link. Like he said it's not a guarantee and if you're a tool, I'm sure that could work against you. BUT, as long as you've completed probation, you can "apply" so to speak with the office manager, so I've got that in my pocket for my golden years.
That Kelloggs dude was in pretty tight with either Larry or Bill from what I've heard, so that helped.

Hey, can one of you pm me the link?
Was just talking to a fellow ex ASI, and he said since he was there past 3 years (he was there 7) he had guaranteed job if he wants it.? Since I was there only 2 1/2 years, I don't. Said I shoulda stayed 6 more months...
(I couldn't do it anymore.)
