I submitted my stuff in the spring and got referred for an air carrier about 6 months later. I didn't take the interview for that one. Got referred for ga job about 10 months after my application was submitted. It really all depends on the funding for that particular office. My ga office was trying to secure the funding for that whole time before I was offered.

[QUOTE=cargowannabe;1840949]Thanx for that! I applied for one of the NJ 1825 jobs that were posted a couple of weeks ago and have not heard anything yet. How long does it usually take before you could expect a 'referred' email or to hear anything?
Again a thank you in advance to all who take the time to reply.
Doneandout had a great question thanks for asking even though I do not nearly meet his/her past accomplishments.
Thanks

FAA GA OPS Inspector
There is no set timeline on a GA ASI job offer response at the FAA. Anywhere from a few weeks to a few years. Getting a call depends on many things. How well you completed the KSAs, your qualifications, your requested work locations, and the current needs of the FSDO.
Once you are interviewed and offered a job, they schedule your flight check at KAFW. If you pass that, more paperwork and a drug screen. Report to your assigned FSDO, accomplish your online classes, classes in OKC, On-the-Job-Training (OJT) and thats about it. There is a one year probation period.

Good info thanks guys! So I turned down the interview for the midwest, and just received an email saying I'm on the referred list for a east coast FSDO for a GA Ops Inspector. I know I may not get a call on this position, but what has the wait been after the referred list is published.

One more question to the group:
Ok I have my MEII and it is current, about 20000 hours of time, several type ratings, developed different programs for my current employer, previous sim instructor and just a damn nice guy (humble to) anyway the question is, is this the type of resume that the FAA would want or would I be wasting my time applying????
Thanks in advance for any responses!!!!!

Same thing happened to me. You should receive a letter from the FAA inquiring about your availability and if your still interested in the posting. Good luck!
