AFAIK it is still in KRBD.. All ATP's has PA-44's there. They can run you through the entire profile as I recall.. Plan to travel there a day early and do the practice run, that worked well for me...

I didn't do it, but probably would have been worthwhile. I made it through, but know of one or two that haven't. You can read all the gouge in this thread.

I just did a couple hours in a Redbird sim with an instructor, a bit cheaper and accomplished the same goal, just knocking some rust off. You have to be pretty deficient to fail the ride, unless they've changed something in the last year (entirely possible).

Same here. I watched a couple of UND and AllATPSs videos on the vmc demo, etc., then did a half hour in a Redbird sim. The only real challenge was the steep turns. The Seminole was a lot heavier on the elevator than I remembered.

Funny enough, during Indoc flying, fourteen months later, guy failed an engine on me. I stepped on the rudder, pitched for the proper airspeed, and kept going. He looked at me, laughed and said 'been flying jets, eh?' I said 'yesssss....?' He laughed again, and said 'you might want to do something about the that pesky propellor'. Oops.

Same here, in the sim they pulled the engine on T/O, I pushed up the throttles and just kept motoring. Instructor had to instill a bit more urgency in me since I was still in the 'climb out and figure it out later' mindset. Good guys at the academy though, too bad they're axing it up like that.
