I hope that you knew the ASI job wasn’t a big flying job.
And a lot of the flying you do us the right seat/observation/evaluation type of flying correct? Do I think it is a little weird? Yep. Does it seem to be a long by held part of the job. Yep. Seems you have to recognize safety
If you’re looking for more flying - keep your eyes open for an ASIP position on USAJOBS.gov.

I think there may have been a little confusion on what I was asking. I’m not expecting to much flying at all, that’s why I applied and so far I think the job is great to be honest and have zero complaints about the non-flying aspect. I was just wondering how proficient they expect us to be by being out of the cockpit for so long when doing this flight check after string training and what to anticipate? And if it’s a pass/fail or just more like a training flight?

Yes, you must forget that you were once a pilot, and you’re now a Cube dweller. It will take you two years to understand the stupidity and three to stop beating your head against the wall. I’m hoping to retire before I see it make sense.
Yes, you’ll be current but you won’t be proficient. The part my line is you never have to do anything you don’t feel safe doing (in fact they’ve just instituted a FRAC, for almost all flying).
Don’t sweat the training/ride. You’re an employee, they’ll get you through it.

Seems to be where it's headed. Going to DPE's for all certification rides and Check Pilots for 135 rides. Not sure what small operators will do if they aren't big enough for Check Pilots.

How long from reference checks can you expect a TOL and the checkride?
I was told by several of my former bosses and references that they got called late last week from an FSDO. I've heard anywhere from this week to a year from now....
Just wanting to get an idea in my head so I know when to expect to bow out from my current job. I'm not counting my chickens but it would be nice to know. Especially since my current boss has mentioned he got called.

For me it was about 10 days for one FSDO, and then another 7-10 days for another. Keep in mind that the TOL doesn’t necessarily mean you want to bow out of your job, it’s still quite a lengthy process after that. I think the letter even says don’t give notice or take any action on your current employment.
I'm thinking it will be May or June before I'm feet on the ground at the office if I'm selected.

Do NOT quit your job after receiving a TOL. Within the past few months I already know of multiple applicants who did not get their FOL since they did poorly on the checkrides and ended up with an UNSAT. FYI you bust the ride you need to wait 1 year until you can reapply.
One of my friend said it was simple and that he was done with both ground and flight parts in about 1.5.
