Never said anything about not wanting to work there. The post i replied to was wanting an update. The information I provided was for potential hires that would be going through the process. You have to stay in contact and keep the process moving.

Thanks for updating those waiting. It’s a terrible process for sure. Try not to judge the agency too harshly based on HR as one is not like the other. I can tell you that at least at my office the “direct hire” process made a huge difference. We went from being critically short of Ops Insp a year ago to actually being one over. I can only imagine how messed up the fragile hiring process is now that we’re probably flooded with applicants due to airline furloughs and the wrench thrown in from the China Virus nonsense. Good luck to you. It’s a good job after the first year.

I started the application process in April through direct hire with my preferred FSDO, got through the interview and experience checks and got my flight check signed off under the authorization to use a recent checkride, and then I got stuck in July due to what was basically the hiring freeze at that time from the fiscal year ending.
Earlier this month I received a tentative offer letter and was put through the rest of the steps in order to complete the process, so there's been some recent movement. I don't know how long a firm offer letter or class date will take, or if classes are even running right now, but I'll advise when I hear anything.

That is great to hear! I am glad there is some movement. Which office are you waiting on?

^^^ I have heard that ASI’s and other non-mgmt have a CBA, similar in concept to an airline pilot contract. The CBA may have language in it that covers this scenario. Nothing to lose sleep over.

Anyone know where to find the list of AMEs approved for ASIs to use so I can get reimbursed for flight physical? I’ve seen it before but can’t remember where. Guy I use wasn’t on it so I just always ate the cost but I think he may be now. Thanks

Can anyone help me with the FAA ASI GAO Seminole check? Any and all helpful information would be greatly appreciated. PM me if desired. My background is almost entirely military and Airline. I have not flown a light twin in over 30 years and that was a KingAir.
