Default Aircraft restoration

Ive always been interested in aircraft restoration. I don't ha e any experience but I'd like to volunteer some time and learn. Does anyone know of a place near Dfw that brings in volunteers to help restore aircraft?

If you like cool russian aircraft I understand these guys welcome volunteers. Saw something on their FB page that they were in need of 2 volunteers this weekend at the Fort Worth airshow to help with the Mi-24 https://www.facebook.com/Cwamtx

Cold War Air Museum - ColdWarAirMuseum

If your into something a little older and more american then try talking with the Vintage Flying Museum in Fort Worth they are a good group and have the A-26 one of my all time favorite aircraft.

Welcome to the Vintage Flying Museum a 501c(3) museum located at Meacham Airport (KFTW) in Fort Worth, Texas

There are a few others in the area just go knock on some doors and express your interest. I have worked with restorations in the past and still do it but now it is mostly for myself. Aircraft restoration will be my retirement gig.

Restoration is a great experience. I spent 18 months volunteering on a TBM Avenger restoration, and it's nearing flight.

I highly recommend it. It's therapeutic. Volunteered at Planes of Fame over at Chino, California. Met some very cool people. I used to flight instruct at Meacham Field in Fort Worth in 1989/90, and there are many opportunities in and around that area.
