I am in the same boat. I just do not what to do. I am applying for positions as a sim instructor but my 8000 hours at a regional still leaves me unqualified compared to other candidates.
Does anyone know of any airlines hiring for dispatchers in South Florida?

Pilot Shortage
Didn't you guys hear that there is a looming pilot shortage? In short order there will be piles of jobs.
It is difficult to be a grounded pilot trying to compete with everyone else. In my case I had to make my own job.
We need USMCFLR here to cheer us up by explaining again how valuable sidelined pilots are to the job market outside of aviation.

Glad to contribute.
I would have no problems finding jobs outside of aviation.
Fortunately I'm not looking for jobs outside of aviation.
If you can adequately explain your skill sets (obtained through aviation jobs) to a prospective employer, then you'll have no more trouble finding jobs outside of aviation either than any other job seeker.
I'm sorry Sky - - but the sky still isn't falling.
Keep hoping for that failure though.
I'm sure you'll sleep better at night.
Good to go Sky or would you like proof?
(never mind....we know how much you value honesty and truth in your rantings )

However
So nice of you to invite me into the conversation Sky.

Again I would assess that your professional value lies in your resume as a military officer with a government designation. As a civilian pilot with nothing else in the CV in is kind of difficult. However I don't expect you to understand that and good for you.

You know all.....any one else is clueless.
I'm glad your back from your absence Sky.
If you can't sell the skills garnered from a professional pilots skill set to an employer then you may have other problems. Maybe that is why you are self-employed?

Here is your chance .
You're right Sky - I know NO OTHER PILOTS who have moved on from aviation into any other jobs.
You know all.....any one else is clueless.

Might check with the various recruiters who specialize in placing ex-military JO's in corporate America.
You're a bit long in the tooth and don't have recent management experience but I think there must be some sort of shortage of mature adults...recently (almost twenty years after I got out) I started getting unsolicited queries from said ex-mil recruiters. Maybe they can't find enough folks who show up for work on time and can relate to other people.
