Trump At Boeing.....

I was simply replying to your statement that Boeing is more important than the few thousand pilot jobs you seem to think this may affect. The truth is nobody fully knows what effect NAI will have on this industry, but if an airline shrinks there are far more job casualties then a few thousand pilots. I hope you're correct that the risk to the industry is small, but if it's not, the consequences will be far reaching and hurt far more people than you seem to think it will.

The threat is very obvious. NAI sets precedent . It's the camel's nose in the tent.
Look at the maritime industry. Their jobs are a weak shadow of what they used to be.
Destroying the airline industry will be YUGE. What a freaking shyster.

There's a video record of what he actually DID say. You should listen to it, and stick to facts.
Making stuff up helps nobody.

I know exactly what he said. He mentioned all the boeing orders by these ****ants-and he mentioned their YUGE economic interest in the US.
If trump were going to kill the NAI thing, he would have mentioned none of that.
Doesn't take a whole lot of sense to read between those lines.
(The only reason Trump hasn't released anything more formal yet is that he loves all the groveling and begging from the unions and airlines execs.)

Way to contradict yourself...

So which is it? Did he address it directly or do we have to read between the lines?
Put your hate of Trump aside for once and use logic.

Q Thank you, Sean. On Thursday, weather permitting, the President is going to meet with airline executives from throughout the country. Two complaints from airline executives, as well as the Pilots Association, have been, one, that Norwegian Airlines got a special advantage, a foreign carrier permit from the Obama administration, and also that the airlines of the Arab Emirates are state-subsidized, and both cases are violations of the Blue Skies Act between the U.S. and the EU. Is this something he’s going to address? And is he considering upending President Obama’s foreign carrier permit?
MR. SPICER: Well, again, that will be something that -- that will be decided when they meet, what they’ll talk about. Obviously, the President is going to want to talk about economic growth and job creation, how he’s enacting orders to make sure the country is safe.
On the case of Norwegian, my understanding, if I’m correct, that there is a deal in which they’re having 50 percent of the crews and the pilots are American-based. They’re flying Boeing planes. There is a huge economic interest that America has in that deal right now. I don’t want to get ahead of the President on that. But just to be clear, I mean, when you’re talking about U.S. jobs, both in terms of the people who are serving those planes and the person who’s building those planes. That’s a very big difference.

Trump - "God bless Boeing"
Trump Visits Boeing to Tout Jobs, Manufacturing
by Ben Popken
Coming out to chants of "USA," the man who likes everything "yuge" spoke at the unveiling of Boeing's newest, biggest, plane.
President Donald Trump made remarks early Friday afternoon at a curtain-raiser for the Boeing 787-10, the largest aircraft in the Dreamliner family.
"Just like you built this incredible airplane behind me, we're going to rebuild this country and ensure that every forgotten community has a bright future," he said.
"The American workers will always win. Very shortly you will have a level playing field again," Trump added.
He said he would focus on reducing hindrances on American manufacturing and continue to press companies to bring jobs back from overseas and penalize those who don't play ball. Trump listed several automakers as examples, taking credit again for job announcements that were made prior to his election.
"God bless America," he said as he ended his remarks, "and God bless Boeing."
So much for a level playing field for US airline employees... Good luck #denyNAI.... Good luck stopping government subsidized ME3...

My question is: Instead of what NAI is doing, what if there was an airline that brewed up out of Ireland (or anywhere else in Europe) organically as a ULCC flying the same routes as NAI. There would be no question as to the legality of that right? We are just fighting it because Norwegian created this offshoot called NAI and based it in Ireland? I guess it is hard for me to understand why we didn't all see this coming. ULCC competition on international routes that is.
