Frontline Employee Bodycams

Frontline Employee Bodycams
With the latest cherry picked social justice anti-United drunk SFO baggage incident and all other incidents the public now thinks they need to crucify airlines and employees for, has the time come for airlines to provide optional bodycams for frontline employees to include customer service reps, gate agents, and aircrew? The initial expense would be a pittance in comparison to the legal fees and potential income loss from lawsuits. F the police now includes F the airlines, and anything goes. The general public is seemingly too lazy to read and interpret facts objectionably, and the press has no interest in writing a story with all of the facts because there would then be no story or eye-catching headline to generate the clicks needed for advertisement income.
My frustration has hit terminal velocity and I am personally tired of the cruci"fiction"s. I wouldn't mind protection for myself if and when a customer dispute resolution includes me and I'm included in a lawsuit over something that is complete utter nonsense.

I'm happy using the authority granted under the FARs to deal with passenger misconduct and have no problem pressing charges, with or without help from the company. If a conflict arrises in an area of the airport where the FAR authority doesn't apply, I'll defend myself from physical harm, but beyond that the company management can deal with the problem that they've created.
I agree that employees should have all the tools they need to provide a quality experience, but a body cam isn't one them.

As a Spirit pilot I'm going to have my phone's recording app on as I walk through the terminal and gate area, at least for the near future. There's bee so much negative press on all airline employees, but we are being directly thrown under the bus by our company. They have shown that they do not have our backs should we be accosted in any way. CYA people.

It won't matter. The media and public loves a big, anger inducing story...that makes ratings. Some form authority abusing their power is huge ratings...whether or not the abuse was real or not. If somebody records a flight attendant hitting a passenger with a stroller, that's going to get run repeatedly. That's a story. The body cam showing the pax being aggressive and physical before hand? No one would care and the video wouldn't see the light of day.

There are posts on there that should have that account shut down.

Probably ****ed off that their spouse left them for a pilot or FA.
(Of course, why anyone would wish to leave someone as charming as that twitter hero is a mystery for the ages.)

Is it bad that I actually laughed out loud at some of those tweets? Reminds of me celebrities read mean tweets on Jimmy Kimmel. But yeah, the ones advocating violence are not cool. Todays flying public acts like flying is a right and they can be a jacka$$ to the crew. When you see a person acting up at a small business like the grocery store or the coffee shop they are asked to leave and not come back. If they act like that on an airplane they are deemed heroes the public wants someone fired.
