Outstanding! Thank you for the link.

The pilot was beyond calm on the radio. It was like he was ordering a meal calm... yet saying he had a fire, engine failure, and was going to land in the trees.

Interview with lady who owns the property it crash in makes it sound like the whole neighborhood is hostile against the airport.

Glad the pilot is okay! Shocked to hear he actually got through on guard. I'm sure he was reminded several times that he was ON GUARD!!!

This is why you stay off Guard! Glad they made it out safely. I was out west when we heard an airline crew helping out a guy who had gotten lost in mountainous terrain and was getting low on fuel. All the while d-bags keep chiming in...you're on guard dude....GUUAAAARRDDD! Dudes can't even shut the F up when something real is happening. Finally a pilot says if you're childish and not helping this emergency then SHUT THE ****** up! Aside from one comment from a butt hurt child, everyone shut up. Then the crew was able to find him, let him know where he was and direct him to the nearest airport.

I grew up in central/north NJ. Learn to fly at N87 and TTN. Worked at 39N and, for a very short, time 47N. Neighbors around these airports are extremely NIMBY types. The Irony is, 70-80% of the loudest complaints come from folks who moved into these areas decades after the airports started operations. Look at how hard AOPA had to fight for LDJ. And, love'em or hate'em, the Nierenberg family single handedly saved 39N from becoming a strip mall.

Sorry for the thread creep!

Jesus, she doesn't even talk about the crash. Just a bunch of winey neighbors complaining about the airport.
