Default SE Turbine PIC Value at Legacy Carriers

Good morning all!
I am like everyone else trying to find the most direct route to a Legacy Carrier and or Southwest Airlines. I see most Legacy carriers want 1000 hours Turbine PIC time. My options are flying skydivers or doing air tours in a Cessna Caravan 208. Once I hit 1500 hours I would go to a reigional airline. Once
I hit 1000 hours with the company I would then start applying to the Legacy Carriers. My other option is flying a Pilatus PC-12 as a SIC until I reach 1200 hours and upgrade to captain. Once I get 1000 hours SE Turbine PIC time I would then go to the reigionals and fly there until I get 1000 hours with the company and then start the application process. The other option is go directly to the reigionals as soon as I hit ATP minimums as a Pilatus PC-12 SIC. How is SE Turbine PIC time valued at a Legacy Carrier or say Southwest Airlines? Am I wasting my time chasing Single Engine Turbine PIC? Sorry for the long post.
Thanks in advance

It's value might be zero. Get to 1430 hrs ASAP and get a regional job. Start applying six months ahead of time because some regional classes are full until then.

Applying with 2500 hrs TT, with zero PIC time, is in the almost Kelvin chance of getting hired. But it doesn't hurt. Continuous career and resume improvement is key. Do well, help others, help the industry (union, company), upgrade, help the guys at follow you, etc, etc.

Keep in mind the current median civilian OTS is approx 7500 TT w/4000 PIC.

Get to a regional that has a quick upgrade ASAP. Start building that Part 121 Jet PIC time. That would be my move but that's just me.

At SWA at least, Turbine PIC is Turbine PIC......even single engine. We hire A LOT of single engine fighter pilots so I would hope they wouldn't hold C208 or PC-12 time in a different light.

SE TPIC is better than 0TPIC...but not as good as ME TPIC. (Unless it's in a military jet).

If you want to work at a legacy or SWA, go to a regional as soon as possible (whatever path that is for you). Preferably one with quick upgrades and movement on the seniority list so you can beef up your resume for your final destination.

LOL. That's a good one. You're saying F-16 experience is similar to a Cessna Caravan on a resume?

I'm curious if SW has hired guys who qualified because of their SEL civilian turboprop time. Anyone know?

Yeah, because flying an F-16 does so much to prepare you for scheduled ops into high density airports

Caravan ops are frequently into places like EWR and they run on a very tight schedule (to meet the sort). Basically airline flying with boxes. Why wouldn't it qualify for the TPIC requirement?

Well, at least we can stray off the ENDLESS "anyone hired without a degree?" BACK to a less common but just as tedious/ad nauseum/stale/worn out/beating of a dead horse F-teen SE time vs. civilian SE PIC time......

As it's been said before, and even in this hiring climate, the type where you had to strap into an ejection seat is FAR more valuable. It's NOT the mid-late 90's anymore.....
