Default Qatar and AA

https://www.google.com/amp/www.cnbc....-airlines.html

"American Airlines on Thursday said it recently received an unsolicited offer from Qatar Airways about the Middle Eastern airline's intention to acquire at least a 10 percent stake in American, a move that not many people could have predicted."

Interesting indeed... thoughts?

Sounds like a strategic move to shut up one of their staunchest critics.

Their BOD has to approve the transaction. All industry eyes will be on this one!

Hardly worth mentioning. This won't effect the day-to-day business of AMR.

AA and QR are together in OneWorld. I wouldn't think that would be the case if AA was very upset with QR.

This is the main reason I try and always fly QR when I am using a ME carrier. Last time I tried to use QR my company said no...no flying in/out of Doha...

You mean the one that sold them over a billion dollars in weapons?

You are just watching a circus performance, nothing else.

Staunchest critic = AA not USA.

Let's face it, this wouldn't be an issue without the attention the US carriers are bringing to it.

BA just applied to allow Qatar wet leased A320's to operate in case flight attendant strike occurs. Scab slavers. How catchy.
