Default Rough Idea of CA Upgrades for Each Company

I know there are a lot of number crunchers out there. I was hoping someone could share their findings on CA upgrade timelines for AAL/DAL/SWA/UAL and if able FDX/UPS. Let's keep it simple, just a rough estimate please. Don't have to dig into the weeds.

Thanks!

Maybe here is a place to start?

Although this stuff is ONLY VALID FOR RIGHT NOW. UAL mid 1990's hire could hold DEN CA in 2 years, come 9/11, what do you think that guy held? DeltaExpress 737 CA was pretty junior as well.

All this info and quick upgrade/"sign of the times" B.S. is fun and all. But realistically, it's like Sammy Hagar sang;

"And you can analyze this situation
To me it's all just mental masturbation"

Just like your SW pay thread, just like a thread on "which airline is better?", "cargo or pax?", "narrow body CA or wide body FO?", "who has the best retirement", yada yada yada............

The only value is looking at the bulge of pilots hired in front of you in a certain date range.

Upgrade times? Are you old enough to remember Miss Cleo?

Around my 1990 vintage, things were rocking and rolling like now. We were told our airline was going to 15,000 pilots and upgrades were coming in hot at 6 years or less.

We dropped under 8000 pilots and spent 18-22 years involuntary time as FO in the right seat. Just imagine that while flying with a clueless CA who upgraded in 5 years.

Sick as it may sound, your fortunes are tied to a few 13 year clueless #### who are beating themselves memorizing the book of a 7th century pedophile while fighting to mount the cutest goat.

Their level of success affects your progression more than any other metric.

Sorry.

Or a bunch of privileged Ivy League graduates who are best buddies with your airline's CEO that recklessly gamble with their company's money, lose, and then get bailed out by the US taxpayers all while personally reaping tens of millions in bonuses.

memorizing the book of a 7th century pedophile
Anti-Islam post on the first page of an upgrade thread. Impressive.
