Default Seattle car rental

Planning on a visit to Seattle later the month.

Can anyone recommend a car rental agency?

The best I could find on ID90 is $185/ day and that is off airport.

Try rentalcars.com
They usually have the best rates from different companies.

Try hotwire or kayak. Id90 is basically useless these says except for flights, vacation packages, cruises and rarely, hotels.

Costco has always been the cheapest I could find.

I used Sixt rental cars, got a mercedes for $21/day! That was in the winter though, their prices, like everyone else's, varies depending on season. I generally liked the Sixt experience a lot better than other companies.

They also have a downtown Seattle location, easy walking distance from the train. I rented from that location once and it was far cheaper than the airport. The next time, however, it was the opposite.

I ran into this a few weeks ago. Just wanted to do a drive around Mt Rainier on my overnight.

Whatever you do, resist the urge to use the discounted companies like Fox, etc. Just look up Google and Yelp reviews, or ask me about my experience with Fox in FLL.

Be careful with the name your own price as well. When your price gets agreed upon, your credit card gets charged. If you're non-revving, etc, and run the risk of not being there, you could end up eating the cost.

Travelocity, and maybe some others, have no cancellation penalty, meaning you can cancel at any time if you cannot make your non-rev, or if your overnight gets changed, etc. I've even no-showed with no penalty, but I certainly wouldn't risk it.

Second vote for Costco if you got a membership with them. Always had good prices.
