Getting to/from LAX
Anyone in LA have any tips on getting to/from LAX? It looks like I'll be living fairly near LAX and commuting to another base, so I'm trying to figure out a travel scheme.
Uber? $16-$20 each way from where I'll be living Bus? Half mile walk then 30-45 min bus ride followed by airport shuttle from metro station. Paid parking? Looks like there are a couple dozen options starting $11/day. What I won't be doing is getting a motorcycle for the commute... Thanks in advance! |
Which airline? With Delta, you can just choose LAX as your "parking base" and drive your car.

I'm with spirit... No parking perks like that for us.

Employee parking is $55 for most lots at LAX. The Cargo Lot (F) is $75, it is covered, but does not have a shuttle to LAX. Its an easy walk to the terminals though.
And by telling us where you live might help us. Check to see if there is a flyaway bus route close to you. And the light rail is an option as well. But without knowing where you are coming from, I don't know what replies you expect by simply providing an avg. uber fare. |

I'll be coming from pretty much straight south, redondo beach area.
Beach Cities 109 bus. $1 each way. Fewer weirdos compared to the Metro (probably takes a little longer). http://www.redondo.org/depts/recreation/transit/beach_cities_transit/line_109.asp |
Park at the Greenline Aviation/LAX Park and Ride station. It's on the corner of Aviation Blvd and Imperial Hwy.
The G Bus will take you from the station, to all LAX terminals. They claim it's for people that have a Greenline subway fare, but trust me they do not check anyone getting on the bus for anything. You will also see signs in the lot about "No LAX Employees", yet that accounts for at least 50% of everyone getting on the bus and parking there lol. Finally it says parking is for a maximum of 72 hours. Disregard. I have left my car in there for multiple weeks without issue. This is by far the easiest and best way to do LAX for free. Bus runs every 15 mins or so. After midnight to 4am is 30 mins. Pick up and drop off at every terminal. |
Thanks for the tips!
