A380 landing at JFK and LAX today

It just isn't as pretty as the whale.

CNN - Him: "This plane is huge. Look how it stretches all the way across, uh, the runway there. It's said to be, as wide, it's what, 260 feet wide."

CNN - Her: "Apparently wider than a football field."

Is it math, or is it sports? Is there an American adult that doesn't know a football field stretches from goal line to goal line 100 yards?

What was with that landing at LAX? Full rudder deflection after touchdown and got sideways???

Weird.

IMO if any Us airline buys it. It'll be US Airways. They seem to be into the airbus's more than boeings.

Ummm....150 feet or either 50 yards...can't remember which. :)

Just came across track Bravo with A-380 4,000 feet above us. Had to slow down our B757 for it to catch us. We got lots of pictures (collector items). Pilots said they had about 500 people on board headed for JFK, their fuel flow was 7,000 pounds per engine (X4). Funny thing was a British Airways B747-400 caught up with it circled around it a coupled times getting pictures and then went back to normal cruise speed and blew the doors off it. 40 year old technology airplane kicked it ass. Why would anyone want this slug?
