When's Delta to exit B-R?
 

Does anyone know or speculate when Delta will be exiting bankruptcy? Last year they talked about exiting in the spring and recently haven't heard a word about it.

Is management waiting for 1st qtr results or something?

I've heard May 3rd.

Same here. The BOD meeting with the judge is to take place on April 25th. After that it is a paperwork issue.

I've heard April 29th....can't come soon enough.

Delta Air Lines Inc. plans to emerge from bankruptcy on April 30 with stock relisting in early May, the airline told investors in a conference Tuesday morning.

The Atlanta-based carrier, which filed for Chapter 11 in September 2005, also said it planned to sell more assets, projected it would have pre-tax income of $816 million in 2007, excluding reorganization items, and will be focused on better customer service. The presentation was filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Delta's losses have totaled $7.5 billion since 2001, but it told investors it now expects pre-tax income to hit $1.9 billion by 2010, excluding reorganization items. It also has reduced debt from $17 billion in 2005 to $7.6 billion in 2007, with debt expected to dip to $6.2 billion in 2008.

The airline told investors it wants to unlock shareholder value through "further monetization of assets," but did not say which assets it would consider divesting.

In 2007, Delta said it will focus on improving its baggage performance, improving Delta Connection's operational performance, continue to grow at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and continue its international expansion.

To improve its baggage handling, Delta said it will spend between $70 million and $80 million on baggage system improvement projects at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and JFK. The upgrades will include infrastructure upgrades, standardized loading, baggage self service, a roving baggage agent and hand-held bag scanning technology. Delta's goal is to be top five among the 20 major U.S. carriers by the end of 2007. Delta ranked 10th in 2004, 10th in 2005 and ninth in 2006, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Delta has been increasing its international routes while cutting domestic routes for a couple of years. In 2005, about 78 percent of its flights were domestic routes. By the end of 2007, the airline projects less than 70 percent of its flights will be domestic routes. And by the end of 2010, about 60 percent of Delta flights will be domestic.

Is that why they're turning to Jonny O. to operate some 900's?

No details have been released on that deal. I am wondering if it is a short term thing.
There are many reasons DAL does things. I cannot see why they did that.

Big Picture
 

It's all part of the "Big Picture", which they don't allow us to see. Of course, sometimes I think the "Big Picture" is locked in a closet in ALT. Unfortunately, someone retired and took the key to the closet with them. Since then, no one has seen the "Big Picture" . . . . . . . . . . in many years!

Any updates from those in the know???

Shortly after the vote takes place at the end of April. It is coming to the end. If they can get the votes, the will be out by May...
