Default Record CS

Im trying to keep it cool and not let the steam blow too hard out of my ears at the moment. I was curious if anyone here uses a recorded line or a recording app when talking to crew scheduling. Most carriers record from the CS line, but i'm thinking it might benefit me to have my own app at this point.

Better know the state laws in both the state you're calling from and the state cs is located in.

May be illegal without their knowledge and concurrence.

Does that apply when they’re already recording the line?
Essentially the permission to monitor the call is already been granted… Does it matter who is actually doing the recording?

Whenever you answer their call... "This call is being recorded for quality assurance purposes."

Problem solved!

I knew a pilot when I was at the regionals that used Google phone VOIP. He would record every call.

I wouldn’t even stop there...why not have a device on your headset while in the plane that you can record everything being said. This way you really got all your bases covered.

An app called ACR works pretty well. Spend the couple bucks for the premium version.

You know they're recording you, by talking to them your consent is implied.

But if they don't know YOU are recording THEM, it might be illegal in some states. Better check. No use in having a recording of CS which is also evidence you committed a crime.

Been in the airline industry for too long.

I guess you could record all you want, but check the laws before trying to use the recording with management... I guarantee you they will be seriously pee-ed off if you throw an illicit recording in their face.
