I always enjoy working with this guy at JFK, he is more than competent and keeps a good sense of humor when it get's crazy. This is one of the good voices in ATC land.

I agree. NY controllers are the best in the business. Two days ago I was slowed and told to speed up about 10 different times, held at Bessi and Holey on the Korry arrival and was vectored around another half hour in a big box pattern and landed with about 15 minutes above bingo fuel. They do a great job with what they have.

That particular controller is very good. I've heard his voice many times. One of the tower controllers at Kennedy tells everyone goodbye in their native tongue. That's pushing tin.

As far as needing a vacation, he's far from it.

This was posted before, but I think it is so good it can use another post. It is probably the funniest radio exchange I have ever heard!!

"JESUS JetBlue!"

"You can't go anywhere with that plane of yours, A340-600. Let's see. Nope, you can't go on Charlie, how nice!"

"You're who, on what, short of where?"

This guy always makes for a humorous experience at times of the push!
Had a leg up there going to DTW in a Lear, wx was down.
New F/O, it was his leg, so I had him file. Good experience I figured.
F/O (obviously not from the NE), for some reason I've yet to understand, filed (unbeknownst to me) Direct.
I went out to get the clearance.. managed to chime in between everyone else. The guy comes back, and sounded just like this guy.
In his best accent... Hey, N1234.. I seee yaa filed Direct! Is that what you want?"
I dropped my pen!
Afraid to say anything, thinking.. you've GOT to be kidding me!
So, I humbly answered, "well, if thats what we can get, sir."
He responded :
"Ya know, you boys back West really crack us up out heahh!! Now get a pen, and get ready to write!"
Needless to say, we ended up with a full route clearance that hit every intersection, radial dme, to a fix, etc.
I just had to sit there and laugh.
He never filed that again!! Not even from ICT to Emporia.
The NE'stn corridor dudes know they're stuff and I have to reitterate Jetjoks post. He's doing just fine, normal day for him.
Although I saw this on an earlier post, still great to listen to it again. Thnx. :)
