The Canadian government has filed a complaint with the WTO over the tariff:

This was expected. There is still another hearing with the US International Trade Commission which must prove harm to Boeing.

But it still shouldn't mess with the Alabama production correct? All this would bypass any tariff?

How would this tariff stop a Canadian owner from just leasing the planes to a US airline?

The plane must be imported at some point, that’s when the tariff kicks in, when it goes on the US registry. And it must be on the registry.

Hence why the mobile plant makes this a mute point except for capacity of building each one.

The C-Series will have more US-manufactured parts than the 787 after the Mobile plant takes over.
