Hello all! We are seeking a reciprocal cabin jumpseat agreement with any major airline if interested. We are Charm City Helicopters located in Baltimore, MD. Our seats per flight range from $139 - $309 for a 15-35 minute tour of Baltimore and Annapolis. We are super close to BWI and not far from DCA or IAD. We have empty seats frequently in our Bell 206 Helicopter and you have empty seats too. Would love to work something out. Is Baltimore really known as the "charm" city? I haven't felt that on layovers, although the same can be said about the "city of brotherly love".

The Charm City....LoL. That must be felt between the shootings and riots. Having walked around Baltimore on dozens of overnights, the charm I found was suitable cover available should the bullets start flying.

Seriously though, Baltimore is 1 of 3 cities that I’ve heard gunshots in while on an overnight.... Columbus OH and Memphis are the other 2.

It is. If you walk through Fells Point, Canton, Locus Point, Hampden, and the nice areas of Baltimore, you will see how friendly the locals are here. Many people move here from DC because of how much friendlier people tend to be. If you walk through the bad neighborhoods or the downtown area, you will see the same stuff you see in any major city. Stop by the CCH base sometime, I would love to show you the City in the true light, not at a glimpse of what the media puts out.

In all candor, you haven't been to Baltimore. With all do respect, you appear to be the type of person that goes downtown and doesn't immerse yourself into research into the good areas. Just because you overnight somewhere and you walk around, that doesn't mean you have truly been there. I was an airline Pilot before I switched to helicopters, so I am speaking from experience. I have lived in baltimore 15 of my 40 years and I haven't heard a single gunshot. I've never had to look for shelter either. Im also intelligent and stay out of bad neighborhoods, as most fellow pilots are smart enough to do since its a basic survival instinct (again, not being rude, just being honest). Baltimore's bad areas are no different than bad areas in any other major city... NYC, LA, Chicago, Miami, DC, and I could go on. Every city has bad areas. You have to be smart enough to stay out of them and smart enough to research where the good areas are to immerse yourself into that culture, not judge what you hear on the news or be stupid enough to wander into a bad area to where you would hear a gunshot. I find it odd that you can spend dozens of overnights in a city yet you cant find your way through the very safe and sight after neighborhoods of Fells Point, Canton, Locus Point, Harbor East (you cant find a condo here less than $600k), Hampden, Federal Hill. Doesn't sound like you tried very hard. Give us a call and I would be more than happy to show you around on your next overnight and buy you a few beers in some very nice places. Baltimore tops out the homicide list for a reason.
Even the "nice" areas are subject to more violence than other cities nice areas. Just last year my cousins close friend was shot and killed in Locust Point.

I used to spend a lot of time in Baltimore when we had a heavy 757 flight schedule into BWI. I agree, there are some great places near the waterfront and you quickly learn where not to go. I’m a runner and I spent a lot of time roaming the area. Also, taking the light rail can lead to some neat areas as well.

Every major city has the bad areas.

There used to be a helicopter airline running between BWI and DCA. I rode it a few times and it was really cool.

Hawaii and the Grand Canyon also have helicopter operators that will let you ride space available.
