Intercom Tool
Does anyone have a link to the 3D printed intercom tool that a Southwest pilot made? I know they're on eBay and you have to put in a weird search for it, but I can't seem to find it. I have one (a gift), but I'd like to order a couple of backups.
I know I can use stir sticks or rubber bands, but this thing is nicer. |
What exactly does it do? Hold the intercom line open?

Cpt PA...Is that you?

Pretty much. On the 737 you have to hold the switch to talk to the other guy unless you bring a rubber band.

...and it’s only on some of the fleet.

Why do we need any of those things now that the 300s are gone? Every airplane now has the ability to keep the intercom open without them.
What am I missing? |

At SWA, maybe that's the case. At other airlines, it is not.
For all that is holy, don't tell SWA Flt Ops that! |

So judging by the replies I'm getting, I'm going to go with the answer being "no".

Gotcha! I automatically assumed we were talking about Southwest's fleet. My bad!

The rubber bands work best. It's not some "tool" you must remember to grab after every flight. AND if your jet doesn't have a rubber band, you can add yours and then leave it for the next guy. If you send me your address, I'll be happy to send you 20 rubber bands for free. |
