So there’s an AA commuter in CHS who rides you guys to TPA, which isn’t his base? Cool story and nice coincidence for him I guess? Or is that supposed to be some sort of validation or example as to why major airlines should do a JS agreement with you all?
I’m not necessarily against a reciprocal JS agreement with breeze, just like I’m not against one with allegiant (or cape air, or a helicopter company, etc). But there are very few (probably zero?) existing routes where breeze would offer anything of value to most major airlines since none of your routes would get anyone to any major airline crew bases. If you guys don’t fly to any other airline’s crew bases, where most trips begin/end, then you likely won’t support many commuters. Except maybe for a one off trip that begins with a deadhead to one of your bases, like apparently Mr Charleston did to tampa.

I am sure some UPS commuters will appreciate the flights from CHS, MSY, and TPA into SDF.

OK, equipment lock. So if the CA’s are stuck on said metal for 3 years and can’t move to the 220, unless there is more than avg attrition due to various reasons, Ejets will stay staffed and limited upgrade bids will be ran. Either way, one could be stuck as a FO on a fleet for 3 years at terrible pay rates. Yes yes staffing requirements etc will change but not likely by much as higher paying carriers are filling the ranks too. Still, fair winds and blue skies! I hope they succeed.

JFC are you all brand new to this industry or something? There are times I have trips that start or end with DHs. This isn’t that unrealistic that someone (especially with seniority) could find trips that begin with a DH where one would commut from CHS (or wherever they live) to meet up with the plane.
An acquaintance I’ve met, while commuting, does this very regularly. He’s PHX on the Bus and constantly finds trips with DHs to ORD or DFW where he then commutes to in order to start his trip.

this quote was used as a representation of how breeze’s jumpseat is so great and helpful to majors. The problem is, to say there’s a pilot who flies the same trip every single time that starts in a non pilot base seems like a bit of a stretch for justification for why their jumpseat is so helpful to the rest of the majors. It’s highly suspect that the pilot picks up a tampa trip every single time he flies when it’s a non base, and that he 2 leg commutes via ATL to get there every single time. Possible, but not likely. Why would someone deliberately pick up the same or similar trip that begins out of a non base and 2 leg commute to get there? Just doesn’t make sense as it was described. My guess is he did it once and that was misrepresented as “always,” but even assuming it is 100% accurate, that doesn’t really help 99.999% of other major airline pilots. And that’s the point. Not that there shouldn’t be a reciprocal agreement, just that this example is a poor one for justification for it. So calm down there captain carebear.

yeah I think we all know that captain carebear. The pushback is in response to this quote:

actually my point was NOT how having a jumpseat agreement would be beneficial to the Majors. the real purpose of my AA example was that anyone with CASS can fly with us. Whether there is mutual benefit or not... No reciprocal required.
