How the hell is it surprising a cfi got a job at breeze? It's not all that surprising. In fact, it's even more surprising they accepted a job offer at breeze, of all airlines. Who the hell would want to work at breeze? Even envoy/Piedmont pays better at this point

I have many students who went to Frontier and spirit with just a cfi. Granted they have a bachelors degree as well, but that's literally it.

Get your bachelors and it will put you in front

We aren't in 2012 anymore.

I’ve gotten multiple DM’s recently from CFI’s that have been given CJO’s at Breeze. It’s not a troll.

Really I’m not surprised. We outsourced our recruiting team, plus the training curriculum has not been updated to account for someone with no experience. And there is no communication between departments about that fault. I’m sure it will go like everything else at Breeze. We will all live and learn and adapt from it.

Except the adaptation part never happens. Green on green flying with charters is going to be fun 😬

I.
Because they’re upgrading and hiring DECs at breeze. You’ll be swinging gear doing red eyes at Frontier and spirt for a while before you upgrade. Quick movement is basically the main reason people come over. I just hope hiring CFIs isn’t their actual staffing strategy because that’s kind of scary, most I’ve seen are former RJ FOs and DECs

Being a DEC with a 172 CFI as a FO seems like a recipe for a flight violation. Maybe Breeze wants it that way because now your stuck.

Ill have about 1600-1700 by the time I am available (current work notice a my Airline is three months, I've got 1.5 left!) and over 1300 hours on 41000lbs or greater aircraft.
It's probably because even if the training is the same, the paperwork probably different and they're just covering getting people their CTP course so they can take the ATP written. The whole thing is non-sense, but it is what is. Did you look into seeing what you have to do to convert whatever you have to FAA certs, then just apply for a regional and go through whatever ATP course they give so you could just take the FAA ATP written and go through the training program like anyone else?

Hiring CFIs seems to be the strategy for every regional operating the smaller E-Jet, so what's the difference? Who else are they going to be able to hire? If they don't want to change the training program for people who haven't flown in the airlines before, or don't have the type because they don't want to spend the money, they'll keep having people wash out because they don't have the training program they need, so after a while Breeze realize that saving money is actually costing them more money, and they'll change the training program. They seem to be so far behind on their grasp of reality though, they probably won't notice or react to this problem anytime soon.

Yeah, I did but the regionals said they didn’t support candidates through licence conversions, which is a bit silly in my opinion since what I need is what they already offer to folk applying with commercial certs only. There is nothing else I have to do, already have the verification letter from my local FSDO too, so it’s just a paper work exercise which I’ve already done.
I’m not in a position to pick and choose right now I feel so I’m just grateful for the opportunity.
