I would go to Breeze and drive to work in a heartbeat. If you don’t like it, move on to a legacy after you get some 121 time.
I accepted the offer from Breeze and look forward to driving 20 minutes to work in Norfolk.

Do you fly the Lear at CPK?

But driving the 2 or 3 hrs to New Orleans and flying for Breeze seems like a good job as well. I appreciate any info out there.
17 days on the road straight isn’t common unless you bid that type of line. Which there weren’t many of them. They usually gone senior as well. Looking more like 6 to 10 days on. Mostly day time flying, 1 to 2 legs per day. The main drawback of the 737 was the pay.

You need 1500 hours 121 time to upgrade but it looks like they might lower it soon or just go on case by case basis based on internal pilot recommendations.

737 has a bunch of 19 days off lines this month. It looks like a cush gig.

With major communication (crew scheduling, payroll) issues, paychecks being incorrect often, no real movement on common pilot issues, disregard for the pilot playbook, inconsistent and rapid schedule changes with you guessed it.... no prior communication and a half-sincere "sorry" from the company (January in CHS), no stock incentives as the company heads toward IPO, and increasing wages and established ops at other airlines (not just regionals/majors), why do pilots choose to stay at Breeze? This is a genuine question - looking for genuine answers. Is the QOL really not that bad? Do most pilots live in base? Pay? Thanks!

No, I got my Lear time at PHF (L3 now Aery aviation has the contract) doing sea skimming mock attacks on Navy warships, towing targets, LOTS of formation flying (YES FORMATION), and yanking and banking with the best out of Oceana (within limitations of course). I even flew at RED FLAG! TBH, I applied for that gig for sh!ts and giggles expecting a winged military aviator to get the job. Lots of government contractor work out of PHF. If we get screwed by another recession, you'll know where to find me.

Angry Every airline

iflyufly, every airline is (or has for sure) the same problems you have described. If you join a start-up, these things are inevitable. Southwest had a ton of problems when they first started, go read nuts or that book about the history of the airline business. Remember Braniff, Eastern and Pan Am-Gone!

I can’t figure out why people complain about the very thing they get involved in knowing the looooonnnng history and act surprised by it. If you think the grass is greener ANYWHERE you’d be mistaken. AA has so much debt, they’re next I’m telling you. Delta you say, just went through some tough labor issues. United just signed another agreement with a regional. Did someone say scope? Oh no Breeze is the worst, not even close!

Wait till the next big war or disease when you get a 33% pay cut, thrown on the street AND the airlines beg for more bail out. What a skipping record honestly.

So, you either know what you’ve gotten yourself into or you live under a rock either way stop whining about it. It’s been like this for like 90 years in this business. Go to medical school if you have the acumen.

Not an attack just a reality check.

Aa HaS sO mUcH dEbT

cool story, btw United it about to surpass them in that department.

Despite the problems, almost every other Major is a better option and provides more stability then Breeze. Although I am sure your Union is working hard to improve things.....oh wait

It's greener by a lot. I nearly replaced my relative seniority in 1 yr after leaving, made more in my first yr as an FO than what i would have had as a breeze captain. Plus, I got to the left seat before my seat lock would have expired anyway. No commuting on divvy cards either... Others who left and took early opportunities for greener pastures have had very similar experiences at other bases.

your assertion is ridiculous when it comes to the opportunities available at this particular time. No offense.

But the username checks ✔️
