Two different business models within Breeze. The 190/195s are/were used and acquired on extremely cheap leases where low utilization is okay. Short out and backs, low daily utilization, etc. The A220s are a lot more expensive in capital/lease costs and will be run at a much higher utilization and on longer routes. The pilots will be seatlocked for a long time. A real long time. Being dual fleet will allow them to work both types of flying/trip construction with minimal inefficiency caused by being dual fleet. I don’t think they could successfully fly the 190/195 routes they have planned with A221/A223s. The 190/195s will be in smaller bases and won’t have the route structure to support the high utilization required with brand new A220s.

I think the pay scales are fairly similar, less than $20 difference in the left seat between the two planes, even less difference in the right. And I don’t think the long seat lock applies until after you switch off your initial air frame. Also, there are some nice things about being on the 190/195...like being home every night, being in a smaller base in an area you may want to be where the 220 isn’t based, and working bankers hours, which may not be the case on the 220. Regardless, there should be an opportunity to pick your poison at some point.

Nah, not at all, buddy. I wish him, me, you ...everybody the best. Just taking a crack at the popular opinion on here that he can do no wrong (cuz he hasn’t...yet). Sincerely hope he maintains that batting average. 😎👍
