Yes so far 6 people have and an additional 2 more are in the process. Likely in December/January timeframe additional upgrades will happen to staff the spring expansion. If I had to guess, upgrades at some point early next year will become a steady occurrence.

I would think there will be a decent amount of E190s coming available from Jetblue in the coming years, so it would make sense for Neelman to pick those up, especially considering they were his planes to begin with.
originally yes, the plan was A220 from the get go and the Ejets were an interim solution for launching earlier than Airbus could supply A220’s… however things changed pretty rapidly and the Ejet economics changed and has become an integral part of our system, so it’s a long term fleet.

Does the seat lock apply in the event of upgrade, I.E. if you are hired into the E-195 are you only allowed to upgrade into the E-195 and not the A220 during the duration of the seat lock?

It sounds like it's more of an equipment lock than a seat lock, where you stay on the fleet you were hired for. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Jetblue have a fence between the E190 and A320 fleet for a while at the start as well? Either way, sounds like the E190 and A220 at Breeze are going to be filling somewhat different roles.

I thought someone said a 3 year equipment lock but I could be mistaken…. The E190/95 makes sense if you want to fly out-and-backs like Allegiant and sleep in your own bed. Should be very interesting to see how they use the A220 considering it’s range flexibility and low break even load factor… And dang it do look good in blue:

Can’t wait to see it on the line soon.

Speaking of the A220, I’m curious myself. I’ve noticed more interest of Legacy’s in the 220 and am wondering if Breeze isn’t grabbing a market by the lug nuts and remodeling route structures as we know it. Could be an interesting period of growth (which I think it will be and in a great way) and a once in a lifetime opportunity. Seems this business model was slowly trending up prior to the COVID ground-stop but was exaggerated during the Great Recovery and is a race to expand a market and open new route opportunities. Too early to talk mergers? Perhaps, but I wouldn’t ride that off as a possibility in the not so distant future. Looking at previous acquisitions of other carriers, I can’t help but think that is a possibility.

There’s speculation David wants JB back and Breeze could be a way to do it.
