Default Alaska JS int'l policy, tax, load check

Anyone have the gouge on AS' JS?

I'm looking to join a buddy (non-airline, on a paid ticket) going down to Cabo.

AS1276, SFO-SJD, Wed 26 Sep (tomorrow)
  • AIUI, I can JS, but only if there's an open cabin seat (I'm with DL). Yes/no?
  • I assume I'll have to pay int'l taxes--yes/no? Can I do that at the gate, or do I need to go outside security to the ticket counter? Maybe a customer service counter inside security? (Not really familiar with SFO.)
    • Can/should I do so ahead of time, ie, at ATL?
  • Any help with loads for tomorrow, or any other advice to build confidence of getting on, will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any help. Cheers!

2 open in first. oversold by 3 in coach. They will bump up two pax to first leaving it oversold by 1. Cannot occupy the JS. JS is absolutely the lowest priority in the cabin.

Copy, thanks!

Figured it was something like that based on what I was seeing on MyIDTravel.... Took a left turn, trying my luck on AA via DFW....
