Yes, the 73 sucks in every way possible for a passenger. It's a horrific, antique airframe that should be put to pasteur with the Mad Dog and the 72.
Yes, please blame DAL for UAL problems.

I commute on a 73 often, and I just don’t experience the pain. ??

I almost always have an aisle and almost never a middle though since SWA lets us preboard and choose. However, the few times that I do have a window or middle, it’s just not that bad.

It almost seems cliche to be a 73 hater these days, lol

How about putting the two fatties together and the ‘regular’ size in the aisle seat?

Airline seats have been getting smaller and people have been getting bigger.

Seat size will eventually need to be adjusted. "Passenger Bill of Rights v2.0."

FWIW: An E175 is far more comfortable than a B737 in my opinion (UA colors for both).
The 737 seat width is not shrinking. It’s the same as it’s always been. As far as seat pitch, they were in an exit row so that’s not a factor. We as a population are getting bigger. I’m sure nobody likes sitting next to me. I’m 6’5”, 220# and physically fit. But my shoulders are wider than the seat. I try my best to fly sideways when I’m in the middle seat, but it’s sometimes a losing battle. The trouble is, we as a society have lost the ability to be nice to each other. There was a way she could have handled the situation gracefully, and she chose not to. Bye Felicia.

PS, the E175 seats on UAX SUCK. My butt falls asleep 15 minutes after I sit down and you might as well take off the back padding. It’s worthless

I just read she was removed from the flight and rebooked the next day. Good on UAL!

She could have handled the issue discreetly with a FA, but just had to go into full ***** mode.

Agreed, that no center seat makes the E-175 a better ride. However if not for scope those airplanes would be running around with max density seating in them. If they could make them more uncomfortable by lacking in slim line max density seating they would. At least for now scope is the only thing preventing that.

My issue as well. I am 6’4” and 260lbs my butt fits in the seat just fine. My shoulders are too wide and the middle seat is a nightmare for me. The big problem comes when I do have to sit in a middle seat and fly sideways for hours on end is an old spinal injury that required a multi even fusion.

I’ve actually had to go to the ER on several occasions after middle seating on longer flights. That awkward seating position can set off a muscle spasm in my neck that absoloutley floors me.

Why do “normal” people have to accommodate to the “special” people?
