I waste quite a bit of time on APC.

Wasting time is different than losing time. Definitely lost the time watching that video.
I guess you have to like that humor. I do. I liked the video. This is America, we all don’t have to like something. If you don’t like it, move along. No big deal.

When I was in Maintenance Flight Test we were required to advise our presence on the airplane. Always felt like a dork doing so. But if you are qualified on the airplane you are shirking your responsibility if you don't advise the number 1. You never know when circumstance might cause the Captain to want another set of qualified eyes in the cockpit. The thing to remember is regardless of seniority or qualification if you are invited go to that cockpit you go as a copilot and are there at the Captains discretion.

If I’m asked up there it’s cause I’m God’s gift to aviation and he knows it. Usually I ask for him to get up so I can get a better seat.

Unfortunately this site is awash with morons pretending to be pilots. A smart Captain uses any assets available. Probably the smartest was the United Captain on the DC10 that lost all its hydraulics. He had a sim instructor on board and used him. The sim instructor had likely practiced this in the sim. The Captain never had the opportunity as no one could imagine such a failure. Some people died in the resulting crash, but that airplane should have been a total loss. It was one of the great aviation feats.

A spare IP might be a good help, that private pilot will do a pretty good job tripping over his boner as he takes 10 minutes figuring out where to plug in his headset.

Dude in the video is great ...(I ll admit , this video was a bit weak sauce )

he’s got a ton of ATC videos and voice overs that are pretty funny ..... one either gets his humor or doesn’t ...
