Delta more than likely prohibits him from being in uniform on TV

Used to bother me too. Then I did some global travelling (the kind where you meet interesting people, and kill them) and while it cemented in my mind certain concepts of right and wrong, it also made me more tolerant of some of the stupid harmless things that people do in their personal life.

Mostly it made me ok with changing the channel and not worrying about what any particular group of idiots was doing to entertain any other particular group of idiots. At some point in there I cancelled my cable subscription and haven't missed it except every couple of years during the olympics.

This happened last week. Landed in SFO and had a deadhead back to domicile to catch. CA packed up early and said “maybe I’ll see you there” as we only had about 10 minutes until departure time. I packed up and walked off a few minutes later. Walked to the gate, late, and they were holding the flight for me. Went and sat down in my middle seat and flew home.

Walking off the jet and grabbing my bag from the cockpit, the Captain says to me “you know your Captain wanted me to leave you behind?”

Class. Act.

I feel like there's more to this story. First off I always wonder why crewmembers check in with the flight deck. Especially on a delayed flight, not required. Just take your seat. Also, was this the end of your trip? If not, he may have been doing you a favor depending on what was left on your pairing. Also CA could have been joking. Sometimes my jokes are lost on people.

A check in on a jumpseat is always required. If this was a deadhead then I agree.

I read yours. Odd that you might rub people the wrong way.
