Clarity aloft pro plus

Which custom molds do you use, and are they just as quiet as the foam tips?

I only used the foam tips when I was using these headsets. Very quite indeed. Now I’m using the DC Pro X. If anyone is interested in a very lightly used set of CA Pro Plus (wore them for about six trips) please PM me.

Anyone have the “Flex” to me that looks like a better choice than the pro for more flexibility.

I tried the Flex and the Pro Plus. MUCH preferred the Pro Plus over the almost toylike Flex. It seemed very flimsy and would tangle easily in the carrying case not to mention the ear hooks being uncomfortable.

I have the Pro Plus and just use the foam plugs that come with it. The only reason to get custom molds is to not have to buy more of the foam plugs. I can't imagine it any quieter than the foam plugs. I'd be scared of losing the custom molds. Sometimes I lose the foam plugs and luckily I have plenty more to get.

The flex looks awful and very flimsy. I'm sat in both seats with the Pro Plus and have no issues with the mic being on the wrong side.

How do you stow it in the case upon completion of a flight? Feel like I’m bending the mike and damaging it

I had my previous set of CA's for over 6 years before I broke them (ripped one of the earpieces clean off). I never had an issue with the mic or the headset otherwise.

It doesn’t bend enough to cause damage. The Pro Plus boom mike is thick and sturdy. Also, make sure you have it seated properly in the case.

I was worried about the same thing before I got mine and then once I used it it all made sense.

I am also using the DC Pro X now. I have no complaints really, but I always thought I would like the CA too. What made you choose the DC over the CA?

I had a set of custom ear molds that never sealed as good as the foam tips. I never got a good suction from the ear molds, and even the slightest bit of air between the mold and ear canal amplified outside noise.
At the time, I was on an emb-145 which is known to be super loud.
I spent money at an audiologist to make the mold, then like $150 (which I was refunded, eventually) on the ear pieces. I’m on my second set of CA’s and I still use the foam tips.
