I actually did like 117 when I was a regional guy. I remember pre-117 getting “rest” during a sketchy 30 min van drive with a reduced rest overnight. It made absolutely no sense why that was legal.

The only guys I’ve personally seen complain about it are the ones that like to work a lot.
So, it’s the existence of the contract, not the lack of 117, that gives you better rest. Sounds like an irrelevant point to a discussion of whether 117 is worse than previous regs

I was responding to the post that said

“UPS and FedEx are hiring - no 117...”

If you still want to argue about it, I really don’t care.

You ever heard anybody ever say after a transatlantic flight that they get off the aircraft feeling super fit and refreshed? Well that’s what we do 3-4 days a week. Multiple legs.

I hate 117.
I like 117. A little bit. It's better than what we had before, and I actually LIKE being able to block nine hours in a day on domestic ops (don't want to do more than 1-2 legs, 3 max though). IMO duty time and the number of legs is more fatiguing than just sitting in the cockpit in cruise flight while my bank account grows.
