Contract. We don’t have 117.
I actually did like 117 when I was a regional guy. I remember pre-117 getting “rest” during a sketchy 30 min van drive with a reduced rest overnight. It made absolutely no sense why that was legal.
The only guys I’ve personally seen complain about it are the ones that like to work a lot.

Because before 117, I rarely flew more than 7 block hours a day. Now I routinely block 830 a day. I can’t recover from that much block on a 12 hour overnight, let alone a ten hour overnight.
You ever heard anybody ever say after a transatlantic flight that they get off the aircraft feeling super fit and refreshed? Well that’s what we do 3-4 days a week. Multiple legs.
