Sure you missed the /s, but for all my fellow pilots with the INOP sticker:
So you are okay with them tracking your location, hearing everything you say, seeing everything you type, all the apps/webpages you visit, but you really don't want them to see your facial expression??

Don’t use your efb for anything except company activities. Very easy problem to avoid.

No FB or other media garbage. Adopted, so no worries about shared DNA as I have no connections that I am aware of. Mil has my DNA long ago so that point is moot. Company pad is taped up all over and only official business. Tracking is always there.

Problem is facial recognition and AI will not stop. Asia has that cornered and are way ahead of us. 7 Eleven in Thailand, Japan already bringing facial recognition and AI to the forefront. You just grab your product and go, charged when you leave. Thieves using a hat, hoodie or motorcycle helmet most definitely, but for such low gains - whatever. If you flying international you have been fingerprint scanned, photographed and are on video all the countless times. Overall, it’s a matter of exposure! While it guarantees nothing, less is better than more in this case. If your really don’t care, then why are you protecting any of your information. Passwords, PIN numbers, Secret Squirrel questions - we are all doing it. It comes down to how much effort you put into mitigating such efforts/attacks/invasion of privacy(nothing is really safe). I’d rather be paranoid a bit then feel the effects of being lackadaisical or just accepting every app asking for file, photo, contact, etc. access.

I for one applaud those who take the time and effort to safeguard as much as you can. Doesn’t mean you won’t be hacked, no guarantee you won’t be charged for something you never saw, you most likely won’t be asked questions by the Gov unless you purchase bad idea products or vast quantities of unmentionables. Buts it’s truly minimizing your exposure.

It’s a mentality I guess. If you really don’t care, feel free to hang out in hospitals, freely share yourselves at a high rate without thought or head to the latest Ebola breakout and you have a greater chance of catching something - that’s the point. But hopefully you won’t catch anything.

More rant: While there’s zero chance of not being tracked and folks knowing your away from your home, there is no sense in broadcasting your whereabouts so freely. Posting it to the world in real-time is irresponsible to your family and your just leaving them wide-open and alone to whomever of consequence may take notice. Single folks, it’s just your belongings, pet(fish maybe) or someone you may care about watching your place. All this technology gain has its downfall and one day it will could become “self-aware.” - ha ha ha, not so funny I guess.

All folks are doing is bringing down risk. It’s information warfare out there, make no mistake. There is no argument against this if you truly are in aviation. We should know better.
