Of course it could have been prevented if the deceased didn’t take heroin too, so Narcan wouldn’t have been needed. Maybe a warning printed in the inflight magazine “Narcan not Available onboard, please don’t use illegal drugs”

Maybe we just need another line or two in the disclaimer/waiver fine print, something to click through when buying the ticket. Aircraft is not an acute care or suicide prevention clinic.

Illegal drug OD is a fancy form of suicide, not much different than Russian roulette. It's hard to stop people intent on killing themselves, even in a professional medical environment.

Also, if this trend continues then at some point FA unions ought to demand additional pay/compensation/training, maybe tacking on-call EMT pay rates on top of their normal pay scale.

of course this is not the airline's fault, but this is the world we live in (unfortunately)

the airlines were loathe to put defibrilators on the planes (due to cost and perceived liability) but now we would not think of not having them

of course someone here will blame the heart attack victim for eating too many cheeseburgers.

I’m right here for ya! Decisions made everyday accumulate into consequences.

You know the airlines will then take a hit for not supplying Narcan in Baggage Claim, after someone OD's and is revived from the airplane injector, then drops another dose after deplaning.

Sad addiction, agreed.

If the airlines place it aboard, it will be only to avoid the paperwork involved with a fatal OD on arrival.

What about the fatal from administering an unnecessary drug? FAs are not doctors, paramedics, or EMTs. Put it in the medical kit? Sure, why not? But it’s not the cabin crews responsibility to diagnose an OD and administer treatment.
