That's what Alaska invented kiosks for...that and to get rid of Customer Service Agents.

This. Has been a policy for more than several years.

I'm always Pre-Check when I DH/NRPS, probably due to Global Entry.

I rarely nonrev.

I've never seen the dreaded SSSS. Probably due to this.

I've recieved one of these and the agent just tore it up and gave me another without it.

I’ve checked in for countless flights and never even looked at the boarding pass until through KCM and at the gate

Wow, I never even look at a boarding pass. I just say thanks and stick it in my pocket until I board. Can this show up on a JS request card as well?

I received the ssss about 10 years ago. Checked in for the jumpseat at the gate, received a standby ticket with ssss, and was told I had to go through security again to have the boarding pass signed by TSA.

As someone earlier noted, this was a bigger issue post 9/11 for a couple years than seemed cool off. I agree that having one of the paid "enhanced" security programs helps limit getting the dreaded SSSS. I think the new TSA honcho's are just tightening things up and think flight crew are a soft spot is security. This will catch guy's flat footed when JSing, no doubt.

I think the Ffdo program might get a lot more applicants if this crap continues.
