wow, outrageously expensive. I looked at some housing costs recently for a retirement search and was blown away. It could be matter of perspective however. Taxes are really high in Md and DC. VA is not as bad.

I talked to a SW guy in the MDW airport and he was a BWI guy. He lived in Charlotte and loved it. It was an easy 1 hop commute to work.

Where in the southeast are you?

I live in Del Rio Tx. Currently flying for the Air Force. I retire around December and have an interview in June.
When I was a kid I lived in Winston Salem and Mt Airy. Nice part of the country. In a previous post your email indicated you work for Lowes. Do you fly corporate for them?

You can usually get BWI in 2 months. Geez I lived in CLT for 10 years and loved it. I would like to get back. I am in DAL now and not to fond of it. I was wondering about the commute to BWI from CLT/RDU. I hear a lot of people to it from there and the flights can be a little full. Any SWA/USAir guys that do this care to give some insight?

No prep for me. But I did have a few friends help me out with the prep. Several other friends did use a prep and most of them were hired. Just be yourself. Dont drop the F bomb or other similar words (you would be surprised). Know how you are going to answer the questions with out being to polished. Most important go in there relaxed. Most people use Judy from HP. What I have heard, she does an excellent job. Good luck!

I've met a few SWA guys who live in Southern PA which is less than a 90 min drive. North of BWI 30-40 miles things decline in price as well. The burbs around DC and BWI are not cheap if you want a nice place and good neighborhood however. Although on 2nd year pay, you would be able to afford the area.

thanks guys for the info. yeah mulcher that is what i have heard, just be yourself, and if you dont have a situation that they are asking you about, i have heard to just be honest and say you don t have an answer for that. seems a little lame to me, but have you guys heard the same thing?
