At some point size does matter. If something happens and a mini horse that’s not strapped in Wacks the seat in front of it due to a ditching. Is the seat rated for that? Hopefully everyone can step over the horse but good luck to grandma and her walker during the evac.

Honestly, I think people are more likely to have to step over grandma and her walker during an evac than a miniature horse.

Of course the difference being Grandma paid for a ticket the miniature horse did not.

If push comes to shove I imagine a horse would step all over YOU on it's way to the exit... it's not going to patiently await it's turn.

There were some horrific instances of passenger's dear pets getting snuffed in airliners due to various levels of ramper/planner/pilot incompetence.

The loss rate on animals in cargo holds is less than 1 in a thousand yeah it makes the news every time it happens but that does not make it common.

If airlines charged a reasonable amount of money for transporting a dog people wouldn't resort to esa.
